Objectives:
In the course we focus on macro and micro nutrients in relation to their role in the body; primary food sources; deficiency, and the consequenses of overconsumption. We also learn to recognize the Icelandic Food Guidelines. Additionally, we will cover energy balance, basal metabolic rate, BMI, obesity and the effects diets have on our body. We also learn about lifespan nutrition with emphasis on Icelandic guidelines, performance nutrition, and the connection between nutrition and certain diseases.

Assessments:
Final excam: 25% (it is reqired to get at least the grade 4,5 on the final excam to pass the course)
